The Nike AF-1 Type (Air Force 1 Type) is part of Nike's N354 family that pays homage to long-distance runner Steve Prefontaine's fastest recorded mile. An Olympian in 1972, Prefontaine set world records while competing with the renowned Oregon Track Club during training for the 1976 Olympics. He is widely considered a leading influence of the 1970's-era running boom. As for this debut colorway of the AF-1 Type, exposed contrast gold stitching sits atop a black leather upper with translucent medial panels, while a foam-padded black tongue, heel strap with pink overlays, and white midsole outfit the rest of the sneaker. The Nike AF-1 Type "Black" released on July 15th, 2019.
